       I. A Word of Confidence (v. 11)

              A. He Has Died For Us (1 Peter 2:24; 3:18)

              B. We Have Died With Him (Romans 6:3-8; Matthew 16:25)

              C. We Shall Live With Him (John 14:19)

              D. We Do Live In Him (Galatians 2:20)

 II. A Word of Challenge (v. 12)

              A. We Are Called to Suffer (2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Peter 2:21)

              B. But If We Suffer For Christ (1 Peter 4:12-16)

              C. We Shall Also Reign With Him (Romans 8:16-18)

  III. A Word of Conviction (v. 12)

              A. We May Choose to Deny Him
                     1. Deny often means to refuse to give to another (1 Kings 2:16)

                     2. We may refuse to give ourselves or our allegiance to God (Mark 10:28-30)

NOTE: Of course, ultimate denial is a rejection of Christ as Saviour (Matthew 10:33; Acts 16:30-31)

              B. He Will Then Deny Us (Jeremiah 5:25)

 IV. A Word of Comfort (v. 13)

              A. We May Even Lose Faith (Numbers 21:4; John 20:24-28)

              B. But Christ Abides Faithful (Hebrews 3:1-2)

              C. He Cannot Deny the Members of His Body (Ephesians 5:30)
