I.          GOD’S REVELATION  (Romans 1:17-23)

A.            The Revelation of His Righteousness (1:17)

1.            Revealed from faith to faith

2.            Revealed through the just (Matthew 5:16;  2Corinthians 3:2-3)

B.            The Revelation of His Wrath (1:18)

1.            Revealed from heaven

2.            Revealed in judgment (Psalm 9:16)

C.            The Revelation of His Person (1:19-20)

1.            Through conscience (v.19;  2:14-15)

2.            Through creation (v.20;  Psalm 19:1-3)

a.            His eternal power (Psalm 8:3-4)

b.            His Godhead: personality & intelligence (Acts 17:29)

D.            The Revelation of God Rejected (1:21-23)

1.            Glorified not God (v.21)

a.            Their lips were unthankful (2Timothy 3:2)

b.            Their imaginations were vain (Genesis 6:5)

c.            Their heart was darkened (2Corinthians 4:3-4)

2.            Glorified themselves (v.22)

a.            Professing wisdom (Acts 17:21-23)

b.            Becoming fools (2Timothy 3:7)

3.            Glorified the creature (v.23;  Isaiah 46:5-7)

II.            MAN’S CONDEMNATION  (Romans 1:24-32)

A.            Given Up to Unclean Bodies (1:24-25)

1.            Given to dishonor (v.24;  Ephesians 5:12)

2.            Serving a lie (v.25)

B.            Given Up to Vile Affections (1:26-27)

1.            Working against nature (v.26-27;  Genesis 19:5, 24)

2.            Receiving God’s judgment (v.27;  1Corinthians  6:9-10)

C.            Given Up to Reprobate Minds (1:28-32)

1.            Committing sins not convenient (v.28;  Proverbs 4:16;  Micah 2:1)

2.            Filled with all unrighteousness (v.29-31)

3.            Committing sins worthy of death (v.32)

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead;  so that they are without excuse:
