Q: Please let me know what is said
about watching movies that contain nudity and bad language?
A: Your question involves the importance of the EYE GATE
and EAR GATE to your mind and heart. When a man or woman
comes to Jesus Christ and receives His so great salvation,
he becomes a NEW creature.
2Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new.
At that instant, that man or woman’s heart becomes a
temple to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of GOD.
1Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the
temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in
you?
At that same instant, that person has two natures: the
OLD man and the NEW man. We LEARN from the Bible that:
1. We need to STARVE the OLD MAN.
Ephesians 4:21-22 If so be that ye have heard him,
and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the
old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful
lusts;
2. We need to FEED the NEW MAN.
Ephesians 4:23-34 And be renewed in the spirit of
your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after
God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
3. We need to GROW spiritually because when you trusted
Jesus Christ you were sealed by the Holy Ghost as a
purchased possession.
1Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk
of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
4. We need, as a purchased possession, to bring to him,
who purchased us by his blood, BE (every day … in the
present tense) unto the PRAISE of his glory.
Ephesians 1:12-14 That we should be to the praise of
his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also
trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye
believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of
promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until
the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the
praise of his glory.
5. We need to think on the things that are TRUE, HONEST,
JUST, PURE, LOVELY, OF GOOD REPORT, AND THINGS OF VIRTUE AND
PRAISE.
Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatsoever
things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of
good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any
praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye
have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in
me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Remember the ways of our past life before we came to
Jesus Christ can only corrupt us (the Christian).
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times
past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires
of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the
children of wrath, even as others.
We need to HEED the warning of GOD’s word:
1Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good
manners.
We need to be especially careful what we put before our
eyes!!!
Psalm 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine
eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall
not cleave to me.
I hope this answers your question about the EYE GATE and
EAR GATE to your mind and heart. Please read these following
verses:
Psalm 119:9-11 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse
his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not
wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in
mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
