Are You Losing Your Mind

Scripture Passage:
Philippians 4:7

Introduction:  Man’s mind is under attack.  As a whole, we are experiencing a great level of dumbing down.  The mind, however, is not just connected to intellect.  It is also connected to faith and a victorious Christian life.  If you lose your mind you have lost one of the greatest gifts that God has given you.  What are you willing to do to keep it?

  1. THE ATTACK ON THE MIND
    1. The Means of Attack
      1. Music
      2. Television
      3. Education
      4. Drugs
      5. Strong Drink
      6. Slothfulness
    2. The Purpose of the Attack
      1. A wandering mind (Isaiah 26:3)
      2. A doubtful mind (Luke 12:29)
      3. An affected mind (Acts 14:2)
      4. A corrupted mind (2 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Timothy 6:5)
      5. A defiled mind (Titus 1:15)
      6. A reprobate mind (Romans 1:28)
      7. Blinded minds (2 Corinthians 4:4)

    1. The Lord Knows Your Mind (Ezekiel 11:5)
    2. Believers Need to Love God with All Their Mind (Mark 12:30)
    3. Believers are to Have a Willing Mind (2 Corinthians 8:12)
    4. Believers are to be Spiritually Minded (Romans 8:6-7)
    5. Believers are to Have a Pure Mind (2 Peter 3:1)
  3. OBTAINING VICTORY IN THE MIND
    1. Believers are Given a Sound Mind (Mark 5:15; 2 Timothy 1:7)
    2. Believers Have the Mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)
    3. Believers Need to Renew Their Mind (Romans 12:1-2)
    4. Believers are to Keep Their Mind on God (Isaiah 26:3)
    5. Believers are to Let the Peace of God Rule in Their Hearts (Colossians 3:15; Philippians 4:7)

Conclusion:  Are you renewing your mind daily?  Have you surrendered your mind and thoughts to the mind of Christ?  Is your mind stayed on the Lord?  The Lord asked you to love Him with your mind and it will be impossible to do so if your mind wanders and is doubtful.  Would you yield your mind to Him today?
