What was Mary Magdalene to Jesus?

What was Jesus' relationship to Mary Magdalene?

Mark 15:40-41 says, "There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem."

She was present at the cross when the Lord was crucified according to John 19:25.

"Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene."

She was present at the sepulchre when the Lord Jesus was laid there according to Matthew 27:61.

"And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre."

And according to John 20:11-18 she was the first to see the Lord after his resurrection from the dead.

Proverbs 27:10

Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
