This psalm assures the saints that, though the wicked exalt themselves against them, the Lord will be the final judge of all men. He will promote and He will cast down. We must look to Him and not to man.

The priests had already been divided into twenty-four courses in order to organize their work more efficiently. Now, the Levites who cared about the service of the temple, the porters, are organized in the same way.

This chapter tells of the blessings and cursings that God will pour out on the children of Israel: blessings if they obey His commandments; cursings if they do not. This lesson gives all the blessings but only some of the cursings.

Paul and his companions, after being shipwrecked on the island of Melita, do much good there. Paul finally arrives at Rome where he stays in a house under guard. He quickly presents himself to the Jews of Rome but receives little welcome.

In this vision, Zechariah sees a man measuring the breadth and length of Jerusalem. Though Zion has been scattered, the people are to return to the holy land where God will dwell in the midst of them. He shall choose Jerusalem again.

After seventy years of judgment on Israel, God is ready to speak good and comfortable words to the nation. The horns that have scattered them will soon be cut off.

Some of the key words in this chapter are hearken, awake, comfort and righteousness. God wants Israel to hear and awake because His righteousness is near, the time of wrath will pass, and He will comfort His people.
