I Shall Be Satisfied (Psalm 17:15)

Introductory Thoughts

One day every born-again child of God will leave behind his or her tabernacle with all of its imperfections. They will trade this imperfect tabernacle for a glorified body that bears the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is this truth that John happily confessed in his first epistle when he said, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). All the heartaches and troubles of this world will instantly cease and man for the first time will truly be “satisfied” when he awakes with the likeness of the righteous Son of God (Psalm 17:15; 1 Corinthians 15:49).

Devotional Thoughts

  • (For children): The Bible says our bodies are vile. For the saved, one day they will no longer be vile (Philippians 3:20-21). Are you looking forward to Christs "glorious" appearingthe day when you will have a"glorious" body like His (Titus 2:13)?
  • (For everyone): Has there ever been a time in this life when you have been perfectly satisfied One day every born-again child of God will leave behind his or her tabernacle with all of its imperfections. They will trade this imperfect tabernacle for a glorified body that bears the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is this truth that John happily confessed in his first epistle when he said, Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2). All the heartaches and troubles of this world will instantly cease and man for the first time will truly be satisfied when he awakes with the likeness of the righteous Son of God (Psalm 17:15; 1 Corinthians 15:49).Lord?
  • Do you long to be like the Lord? Do you long to enter His presence? If not, why not?
