The passage lists the various aspects of the temple as part of this pattern that God had given him. Therefore, the pattern for Solomon’s temple comes from God and must have special spiritual significance.

Solomon had the opportunity that many would love to have. He could ask anything that he wanted of God. Solomon's request tells us much of him.

Solomon may have been the wisest man to live but he still had a sin nature. This proves once again that without the help of God we are bound to sin.
