To Claim the Victory

INTRODUCTION – What were the children of Israel required to do in order to conquer the land of Canaan.

  1. Forget Not (Joshua 1:13) (Deuteronomy 4:23; Deuteronomy 6:12; Deuteronomy 8:11-20)
    1. Remember Where God Found You  (Psalm 40:1-2; Isaiah 51:1)
    2. Remember How God Delivered You  (Deuteronomy 8:11-16; Psalm 105:5)
    3. Remember Where God Brought you  (Deuteronomy 6:10-12; Deuteronomy 8:18; Psalm 103:1-2)
  2. Forget (Joshua 1:11)  (Deuteronomy 1:6-8; Deuteronomy 2:2-3; Joshua 1:10-11; Philippians 3:13-14)
    1. Do Not Be Hindered By Past Failures  (2 Corinthians 5:17)
    2. Do Not Be Satisfied By Past Successes (Ecclesiastes 7:10) Its not as good as we imagine.  We often backslide at mountain peaks because we hold on too tightly to the past.
  3. Forge Ahead  (Joshua 3:1-6; 14-17; Philippians 3:13-14)
    1. Follow The Way of The Lord  (Joshua 1:4; Proverbs 3:5-6)  Ye have not passed this way heretofore - that is why we need the way of the Lord
    2. Sanctify Yourselves Unto the Lord  (Joshua 1:5; Romans 12:1-2)
    3. Expect Great Things From the Lord  (Joshua 1:5; Jeremiah 33:3)  Attempt great things for God, Expect great things from God.   (William Carey)

  • Do you have the absolute victory of eternal life?
  • Do you have the daily victory of abundant life?
