Strength is not tested or demonstrated during times of ease. Rather, it is during times of adversity that one finds out just how strong he is.
Man is not promised an endless supply of strength for him to store up. Rather, God promises to provide the necessary grace and strength for the present trials.
Any honest person, however, would have to confess that God hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Sin demands atonement. Atonement puts God and man at one. When atonement is made man is cleansed and forgiven. In other words, things are made right.
The soul that sins shall bear his iniquity. How does a man bear his iniquity? The answer is quite simple: by suffering the consequences of those sins.
Although the blood of Christ cleanseth from all sin, some things cannot merely be undone. With or without forgiveness, sin has certain consequences.
Sin affects men in various ways, but it attacks them in every facet of life. It hinders their walk with God and hurts their ability to reach others for Christ.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place. His eyes are upon all men’s ways: they are not hid from His face, neither is their iniquity hid from His eyes.
The Bible does not always paint man in a positive light, yet it always paints him accurately. According to scripture, there is no man that sinneth not.
In the Old Testament, sacrifices were often scheduled. The sacrifice might be a sacrifice that was offered once in a year, or one that was offered as a result of some specific sin. Regardless, most often the sacrifices were based upon a schedule given by the Lord. It would appear that no such schedule is given for the New Testament believer. Instead Hebrews 13:15 suggests that believers ought to “offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually.” There is no need to wait until any certain day to come around next week, next month, or even next year. Every day the believer has reason to open his mouth in praise to God. Every day he has reason to give God thanks for all that He has done and is doing.
