Strength Will Meet the Need (Deuteronomy 33:25)

Introductory Thoughts

Man is not promised an endless supply of strength for him to store up. Rather, God promises to provide the necessary grace and strength for the present trials. The amount of strength available to man will be equal to his need at the time. The Bible says that the strength necessary for Caleb to conquer his enemies was exactly the strength he possessed even though he was up in years (Joshua 14:11). Like Paul, a man will always be offered sufficient grace and strength to handle the infirmities he faces at that very moment in life (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). This is why the scripture says believers can go to the Lord in prayer to “find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). God’s strength will always arrive on time and will be sufficient to handle and conquer every trial faced.

Devotional Thoughts

  • (For children): When we go in the strength of the Lord, we can do anything He wants us to do (Psalm 71:16a; Philippians 4:13). Consider the people in Hebrews 11:32-38. God always gives strength (Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 37:23-24).
  • (For everyone): Have you ever witnessed another person go through a trial and think there is no way you could do so well if it were you enduring that trial? Did you later go through something similar only to find Gods grace and strength was sufficient?
  • What does Gods offer of strength suggest about His nature? Have you benefited from His offer?

Prayer Thoughts

  • Ask God for the strength you need to face todays trials.
  • Thank God for His goodness in offering strength.
