Even in the Old Testament, much of the relationship between God and His people was based on love. God definitely loved them and they were expected to respond to Him in like kind. Yet, as today, when they began to waver from the Lord, God started getting their second-best. They gave Him the leftovers.
The story in Genesis 18:1-8 provides a wonderful example of hospitality.
This short epistle deals with one specific problem: the reception and aid of the brethren who will be passing through as they perform their deeds of ministry. In short, this epistle is about the importance of hospitality.
The Lord asked you to love Him with your mind and it will be impossible to do so if your mind wanders and is doubtful.
We must have a heart for fallen brothers and sisters.
