This psalm gives a graphic picture of the suffering King. It is likely that David initially spoke/penned these words to describe a personal affliction. Yet, the Lord gave him the words in such a way that it would be a prophetic explanation of the physical and spiritual sufferings that would be endured by the Son of God.
A time will come when God’s people will live in peace. This is the time of the thousand-year reign of Christ.
God has provided the arms and the armor we need for the battle and will give us the victory if we will trust in Him.
This chapter is one of the greatest chapters on Christ in the Bible. Of this chapter, the Baptist preacher J. Frank Norris said: “The greatest chapter, the highest mountain peak of the whole Bible. This chapter should be memorized by all.”
Jesus appears as the captain of the host of the Lord and gives the plan for taking Jericho. The walls fall flat and Israel wins.
