Those that have gone on before us established some foundations. They took stands for various things and God calls upon us to hold on to those things. Are you removing the landmarks or fighting to keep them?
Satan has robbed the church blind of its daughters. Do names like Jessie Daniels, Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Shelly King, and Britney Spears ring a bell? They all started out either going to Church as children or are in Church now. Who’s next? It may be that my daughter or your daughter is the next target of Satan. So what shall we do?
There are two different responses to the destruction of Babylon. Which side will you be on?
The timing of this event is a glorious picture of God’s work in the history of mankind. This lesson occurs after a series of sinful events on the part of the people of God. The people are found complaining and lusting (Numbers 11), Miriam and Aaron get caught up in the murmuring (Numbers 12), the spies deliver an evil report (Numbers 13), they fail to enter the land (Numbers 14), and Korah rebels (Numbers 16).
The five cities of the plain were ancient cities of renown (Genesis 10:19). They had a large population, plenty of water and an excellent climate (Genesis 13:10). Yet, four of these cities were destroyed during the lifetime of Abraham (Deuteronomy 29:23). In the midst of one of these cities was the nephew of Abraham. Lot was not the evil man that many perceive him to be. In the scriptures, he is called a righteous and a just man (2 Peter 2:6-8). Yet, Lot certainly failed. Why and how did he do so?<br />
