The New Jerusalem is said to be the mother of us all. That is, the New Jerusalem is compared to a mother. On this Mother’s Day, it will be good to see the ways in which the New Jerusalem is an example of a good mother.
As in the previous chapter, we see here a plain telling of events without any explanation of good or evil. However, these first two chapters are setting up the circumstances for a powerful story. As in chapter one, this lesson shows us the ways of the world.
The entire book of Esther is about God’s providential care of His people.
The story of Rahab gives a wonderful type and illustration of salvation. Not only is she a Gentile and a woman, but she is also a despised harlot (prostitute).
Whereas most of Proverbs deals with a father speaking to his son, this chapter contains a mother’s wisdom that she gives to her son.
