Have you ever stopped and pondered why God would save you? or How He could use you to do something? Do you ever get a desire to do something for Him and then you remember who you are and all of the things that you need to straighten up before He would use you? Though it is true that there are some things in life that we must correct before we can serve in higher capacities, many a saint of God has let opportunity after opportunity pass with the excuse of their own insufficiency. The story of David’s soldiers ought to encourage you to serve now.
The Bible refers to the enlarging of something 26 times. To enlarge simply means to make larger. Yet, as with so many Bible words, it has many blessings in the use God makes of the word.
The Christian life is pictured in the Bible as a race to run; a course to finish. The Apostle Paul was determined to finish his course with joy and the ministry which he had received of the Lord (Acts 20:24). Shortly before his death, he could give this testimony: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2Timothy 4:7). Notice, he had finished his course.
In order to go to heaven, we need more than a ticket; we must be righteous. How do we get that righteousness?
