Devotions

Everything in the Christian life is dependent upon prayer. Thankfully, we serve a God who hears, answers, and has respect unto prayer.
Do you want God's respect? The Lord said, “to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”
In establishing His covenant with Israel, God promised them He would have respect unto them, make them fruitful, and multiply them.
Although there are times where God respects some while rejecting others, God’s acceptance of one and rejection of another is never a baseless respect.
God provided Israel with qualities they should desire in a king. In short, when the king ceased to be right with God, he ceased to be right for the people.
The world consistently blasphemes the name of the Lord. To them, God’s name is nothing more than a word to be vainly included in any sentence.
Although no person is excluded from troubles, saints have historically understood that God extends mercy as He divvies out life’s trials.
How would making your motive match the Lord's motive change how you approach the Christian life (from witnessing to praying to Bible reading and so on)?
Most people assume the Lord’s actions are motivated almost solely because of His love for man. Yet, God works for His own glory and for His own name’s sake.
John wondered at the thought that there would be a time in the future when a group identifying as Christian would put others to death for having faith in Christ.
