As saints of God we should have some things in common with a pilgrim. How are you like a pilgrim?
A Bridegroom presupposes two things. First, a person in a single capacity; and as so considered, he is a suitor. Secondly, a person in a married estate; and as so considered, he is a head or husband. In both these respects Christ may be considered, and is held forth in the word of God.
Modern Christianity seems rather quick to criticize the wicked state of the world. To understand the baptism with the Holy Ghost, you must understand that it was an event. Acts 1:6 teaches that the baptism with the Holy Ghost would occur “not many days hence.” We know that this baptism occurred in Acts chapter two on the Day of Pentecost. It was a special day. It was a unique day. It is not to be sought again and again.
