Well maybe he didn't, but Augie, a two-year-old greater Swiss mountain dog, did eat $400.
Psalm 119:83 states, “For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.” “What an affecting picture of misery...
We do not know what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27:1). Few of us think in the morning about what tidings we may hear or what events may befall us before night...
I just returned home from the Baptist History Tour sponsored by Jeff Faggart. We had thirty men who went on the trip, most of whom were preachers and many of these were pastors. We were greatly blessed during the trip in many ways and I may be able to speak of some of these blessings later. However, the trip also seemed to be a lesson in the battles and even the failures experienced in the ministry. Many of these problems revealed themselves as current events and not history.
According to an article in today's "Wall Street Journal," physicists are still struggling to understand the basic proton. In the 1960's, they determined that the proton was made up up three particles they called quarks. Unfortunately for them, the quarks only account for 1.5% of the mass of the proton, 20% to 30% of the proton's spin, and one-third of the proton's magnetism. The physicists have therefore added gluons (to keep the quarks together) and virtual quarks (quarks that pop into and out of existence) to their theory. Yet, these additional particles do not solve the problems in the least. Ultimately, the physicists do not know why the proton is a proton. God is still the God which "doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number" (Job 5:9). If some day they figure out what makes up the proton, they can then begin their search to understand what makes up a quark.
