Caleb the Dedicated

AIM: To stress the supreme importance and urgency of total dedication.

  1. He had confidence In God (Numbers 13:30)
    1. He was ready to go
    2. He was ready to possess- (some go but are not ready to possess) visitation
    3. He believed the victory was as good as won (some are defeated before they go) prayer
  2. He had another spirit. (Numbers 14:24)
    1. State of mind: attitude it was God ward (John 3:30) theirs was self ward
    2. Loyalty His was to God. (Example, school spirit; 1 Corinthians 9:27)  Theirs was to self
    3. Holy Spirit- He relied on the Spirit of God. They relied on their own judgment.
  3. He wholly followed the LORD. (Numbers 14:24, Joshua 14:8,14)
    1. Full surrender Give God everything. (Matthew 5: 25-34) Trust God in everything
    2. Separation Depart from all evil. (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)
    3. Dedication- Do everything through Christ. (Galatians 2:20)
  4. He was faithful in trusting God. (1 Corinthians 4:2)
    1. He believed His Life had a purpose. (Joshua 14:10)
    2. He claimed Gods promise. (Joshua 14:12)
  5. The result. (Joshua 14:13-14)
    1. Caleb Received His inheritance.
    2. His children received his inheritance. (Your dedication will affect others.)

THE CHALLENGE: (Joshua 24:14-15)

  • Do it today (Joshua 24:15) (Romans 13:11,12)
