How do we get the idea that the "sons of God" are fallen angels?

In Matthew 2:23 it says "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene."
Are the Old Testament Saints still in heaven? If God comes back for the second time for us, are we going to meet this people, or are they no more existing?
What is the "outer darkness"?
