Can I get scriptures that support baptism as part of salvation besides Mark 16:16?

I have a question that I hope you can help me with. Last evening my 16 year old granddaughter spent the night with me. She brought a movie she wanted me to watch called Stigmata. I feel this is NOT from God. Do you have an opinion regarding Stigmata? Have you heard of it before?
Why is there such a recent surge in the popularity of movies and TV shows dealing with "messages from the dead?" Why is the practice of consulting with psychics, such as Sylvia Brown or John Edwards (who claim to talk to the dead and consult spirit guides) becoming spiritually acceptable to so many?
I was just looking at your website and I don't understand why Christians can write such hateful speech about other Christians who might disagree or struggle to believe their point of view. As a Christian, I would never even think about describing my fellow Christians in such a way. How can I trust a fellow Christian who would speak of other saved individuals like that?
