What is the difference in denominations and how do you know who is right? The understanding that I get from the Bible is that we should all be followers of our Lord Christ Jesus. So why do we add our own opinions of what we get from scriptures and make it a denomination totally separate from another group who claims to be following Christ also? Plus a non denominational church is like a denomination in its self.
Can a preacher direct non-believers to pray a prayer or follow his prayer of repentance and this lead to their salvation?
I recently met someone who is is a "Oneness Pentecostal". They believe that "Trinitarians" believe in 3 gods. Not only does he believe that his group (tongues and all) are the true church but he believes Baptists aren't saved. Where do they come from? How can I refute some of their claims intelligently?
What is your method for finding definitions of biblical words? For example, the difference between "accursed" and "cursed" and the difference between "lucre" and "money". I have a Strong's concordance and also Webster's 1828. I don't think that going back to the original Hebrew and Greek is necessary. I know that the English of the KJV is correct; but, sometimes, isn't getting to the "root" of the word necessary?
I need a scripture to refer to in regards to voting for earthly
political leaders. I am Baptist however I've been told by the
Jehovah's Witnesses that the Lord does not want us to vote. The Bible does say that we should listen, respect and pray for our leaders. I just can't recall what scripture I found that law in. Please help.
