What is the gift of the Holy Ghost?
I was taught Jesus had short hair, but someone in our church believes Jesus had long hair and that is his excuse to have long hair as well. Is this right?
First of all I love Jesus with all my heart and believe that I am saved . I have been baptized and  I have repented of my sins and have received the  holy ghost. About 4 months ago I started at an apostolic church and we  do receive our messages through scripture however it was brought to my  attention that if I wasn't baptized in Jesus name I wouldn't enter the kingdom  of God. I have truly believed in my salvation . I acknowledge Jesus and I  have always believed that my baptism was right. I was shattered and so confused about this that I am asking for help in finding the scripture that will bring some comfort to my beliefs. If I have been baptized in the Father Son and Holy Ghost and he is one, isn't that the same as being baptized in Jesus name?
What is the correlation/connection between water baptism and church membership? I see where Acts 2:41 references both baptism and adding to the church in the same context, but have not found where baptism is clearly required for church membership.
In Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary, there is no meaning of the word culture as it can be used at times today. The 1828 meaning basically defines it as any labor for improvement or growth. When did this word change its meaning? The reason I was thinking about this is because some people who call themselves Christian refer to the Bible's "culture" at the time. Someone has told me that in the culture at the time of the Bible women couldn't be a pastor. I have heard others refer to a  "Southern" culture or a "Northern" culture. In these times when diversity and tolerance is stressed in and outside of the "church", this word is used (or misused) frequently. Another phrase used is "culturally relevant". It may be culturally relevant at one time but not another. Of course it is comforting to know that the Bible transcends all so-called "cultures"!
